January 31, 2015 - 7 Alarms were transmitted for a fire in a half a block Long warehouse that stored court, Hospital, medical and other business records. The building stored millions of records in cardboard boxes piled high on special racks. At appox. 04:45am Brooklyn box 103 was transmitted for smoke coming from a warehouse. Upon gaining entry, two pallets with boxes of papers were burning. All Hands on the first alarm were used. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Companies took up and returned to quarters to clean up. About 06:30 am, numerous calls reporting a warehouse fire at the same location of the earlier fire, were being received by dispatchers. Box 103 was transmitted with a full first alarm response. Upon arrival units were faced with fire throughout the 4 and 2 story warehouse. A second alarm was quickly transmitted for box 103 at 5 North 11th Street off of Kent Ave, in the Williamsburgh section of Brooklyn. The large fireboat, Firefighter II is getting ready to open up their big gun on the fire. The fire went to Seven Alarms and will continue to burn for weeks because of the heavy fire load.
