The following photos show parts of lower Manhattan after the storm. The area around the Battery was severly flooded. Buildings from Water Street towards South Street have major water damage. Most commercial buildings have many levels of sub-basements and or parking garages. The salt water from the river destroyed the power plants in the basements. It will take months if not longer to replace the damaged electrical and heating and vent systems. Walking through the area, I have never seen so many huge Generator trucks, also so many portable heating and venting trucks and units. It looked somthing out of a Mand Max movie. I was amazed at all of the damage that was caused by Sandy. Photo taken on 11-24-12.
